Up on the Downs: Sussex, 36 miles

A 3-day summer solstice exploration of the highs and lows of the South Downs Way.

Celebrate the Summer Solstice with ipse wilderness, on a dynamic walking adventure. We will immerse ourselves in the wilderness; camp under the stars, cook around the fire, dance in the darkness, paddle in the sea, and revel in the glory of high summer. Explore the ups and downs of the landscape, whilst connecting to yourself, others, and nature. Young adults of all genders welcome.

Route: Rough footpath along the chalky ridges of the South Downs Way.

Accommodation: 1 night shared dorms at YHA, followed by 2 nights camping at campsites. Bring your own tent and camping equipment and a rucksack to carry it.

Difficulty: Challenging; walking distance 36 miles carrying all kit, 10-14 miles per day, undulating terrain, pace 3 mph

Programme:

Day 1: Bramber Castle to Truleigh Hill YHA - 2 miles

Day 2: Truleigh Hill to Housedean campsite - 10 miles

Day 3: Housedean to Alfriston campsite - 14 miles

Day 4: Alfriston to Eastbourne pier - 10 miles

Cost: £300 per person. This includes all activities, accommodation and self-catered meals. Does not include other meals or beverages.
